Does any one have experience in purchasing Canon Lenes in Hongkong / Shanghai?

I will be travelling to China in the near future I wanted to know if Canon Lenses are cheaper than in Europe and if I need to consider any aspects, ie compatability etc.
It is for a Canon EOS 40D

    If you buy from a Canon authorized dealer, the price is more of less the same as the price from US online price. There is no sales tax in HK.
