Why images are only 5MB from a 40D Canon Camera?
I shot RAW and converted it to JPEG at Highest Quality but the images are only 5-6MB. How can I make them bigger? Because the photo lab said each file should be atleast 10 MB for decent quality enlargements.
theres some software that you can use to increase the size of your files.I think adobe makes it,I cant remember.
save as tiff or pdf. jpg is a more compressed file.
If you processed the photo & simply saved it as a full-size jpg, it should be fine. The 10MB they are referring to is most likely the file size when the photo is opened. Open your file in something like photoshop & you will be able to see what the true dimension & file size is. If they are real sticklers for their "10MB" rule, simply re-save your pictures as a TIFF file (JPG is simply a type of compression). Problem solved.
