I'm trying to choose between the 2. they are both digital cameras but the nikon coolpix is 8 megapixels and the Kodak is 6 megapixels. the nikon is a little more expensive.
What's your opinion on both?

I want to get a new digital camera. My budget is 300 dollars or less. I am upgrading from another camera, and would like more than 3x opt. zoom. I will be photographing people and animals. What brand/kind of camera can I get?
Okay, I dropped my beloved camera this weekend and it broke. I didn't have a warranty (first mistake) so I'm looking for a new one now. I want one that has really good features (like different picture and video modes, etc) , is durable, records movies, and most importantly, takes pictures FAST and has image stabilization (my old Nikon took 5-10 seconds to take a picture and they always came out blurry). Also, it needs to be Mac-compatible (I've never heard of a camera that wasn't but I thought I'd throw it out there). I don't want to spend more than $250, and it would be awesome if the camera came in different colors. Also, I need one that's available in stores because I don't want to order it online. If you have any recommendations or buying tips or anything, let me know! And yes, before you say it, I'm getting a warranty no matter what! Thanks for your help…best answer to the one who recommends the camera I end up buying!

I am going to get a digital camera today, due to the fact that I have an old olympus and and kodak.
I really like the Nikon cameras, do i have to buy a seperate lense? Should I get a memory card with it?
I will be using this camera for nature photographs and self portraits.
My price range would be 400 and below.

I am taking care of my best friends son and daughter. I have taken pictures of them before on my Polaroid PDC 4355. Katie (the daughter) is graduating this year and likes previous photos I've taken of her and she wants me to do her Senior pics. I am just not happy with the overall image quality when I use my Polaroid, especially when I want to edit them. I think the flash is just not bright enough.
Anyway, If I do decide to take her Sr pics I want to be sure I have a camera that will provide outstanding image quality that I can work with as far as editing and cropping.
I know most of you will say, it's the one taking the photo, not the camera that takes a good photo but that is not my question. I want a camera that will produce great "image quality" not just a "great shot" (that depends on the photographer) because I want to be able to edit and crop, resize and things like that without giving up image quality. So, if you have any suggestions I'd like to hear them.
I also wanted to add that I am looking to spend around $250 - $350. I too have seen a lot of recommendations for the Nikon D40x as well as the Canon 400d.
