canon powershot or olympus?
hey! ah im getting a new camera and everyone says powershot is a really good brand but olympus stylus 840 http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/product.asp?product=1364
has just too many good qualities that i like. please help me if you know anything good/bad about either camera. thanks 
oh, sorry, i meant the compact digital cameras, not the huge one's for professionals. thanks anyways tho.
I own a canon powershot s5 is. It is the best camera i have ever had. I did a lot of shopping around before I bought…and this one takes the cake by far. I got it at target for $431.00 (tax included) It's amazing. My favorite part is the ISO feature. You can line it up on any color and everything that is not that color appears black and white! it rocks!! HIGHLY RECCOMEND! My friend has an olympus camera. I think around 299.99…it's not nears as advanced as the canon. I can even get more advanced lenses and flashes on mine. Good Luck! ( funny thing I asked about camera's on here…that's how i found the one i bought!) Let me know if you get it!
Get a Canon. They make the best lenses.
Don't get sucked into buying something else because the "cool" features they have. If you want quality pictures, go with Canon.
You are spending about $200-, and for that amount I'd buy the Canon PowerShot A720 IS. Both cameras have an image stabilizer, but the Canon is 6X optical, and you can set controls such as shutter speed manually where you can't on the Olympus. Both can be left on auto. I believe it's Beach Camera that has it for $185+shipping. Check Website dpreview.com
canon has been there for decades and have all these accessories to choose from.. the olympus have their own advantages because of their original weather proof features.. i think olympus cameras are very good but in the end, i will still choose canon because of their image quality and nice camera designs..
