Which Digital Camera is a better buy between the Canon SD1100 or The Samsung NV40/ 30?

I have looked for months, and coming close to buy one. No I not a professional, just a occastional picture taker. Sofar I am stuck between these two. I have searched the web for oppinions and not much help, mostly cause the NV40/ 30 is sort of new. Canon is one of my Fav. companies for years, and samsung seems pretty much good marketwise these days it seems with tv's and picture (image) related products. I want to buy something with umph. The 1100 has excellent stuff, but also the effects like color swap and color accent which I want. But with the NV30/40 its all camera and has features, decent ones that keep all photos to seem "well done." I am in a rut and need help on a decision/ direction to go on so I can buy it soon.
NV40 is a 10.1 megapixel, (seperate models only diff is the megapxl and 30 bucks less) the NV30 is a 8.0, and the Canon 1100IS is a 8.1. I Just Want to mostly know if the samsung is a good or better bet than the canon from any professionals or normal proactive users. Otherwise I will get the canon, simple answer.

Telephoto Lenses for Canon XTI?

I have a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTI camera. Is the 75-300 USM a good telephoto/zoom lens? Can I even use this lens on the XTI? I mostly take action shots and portraits. Thanks in advance to anyone that can help me out!!

Is there any way to charge the Canon Ixus battery via some form of mobile / aa battery based charger?

I'm looking at getting an Ixus camera, possibly the 70 or 80, for a trip around the world next year. It's ideal as I'd like something small but powerful, but I'm a little concerned about the propriety batteries running out when I'm nowhere near a plug socket - not a problem with AA batteries, which can generally be bought anywhere.

Is there any sort of AA battery based charger or other mobile device which can be used out in the field to charge the Ixus? I've seen things such as the powermonkey but don't know if they can charge camera batteries, or can only supply power to them temporarily…

Failing this I guess I'll be sticking to my bulkier and heavier, but AA based Powershot A620!

CANON rebel DIGITALS?

I have the choice between the original canon rebel digital and the rebel XTi… I save $200 if I get the original. I am really into photography and alot of people said I should make it my career. Whats the difference between the two cameras? A camera is about as good as its photographer… and I can work with any camera. I just don't know which one to get… Or if I would regret not getting the XTi after I bought the original…. Help! I also dont know too much about all the technical terms… so… haha :-)

Where can I refill my Canon ink cartridge?

model mp160 or mp150
I don't want a take home kit.
I'm sure Walgreens doesn't do Canon brand. And spending a couple bucks isn't an issue.

What lenses should I purchase for my Canon XTI?

I have owned my Canon XTI for about 6 months. Mine came with the typical efs 18-55mm kit lens and while it takes decent photos, it is not great in low light. I also have the Canon 50mm 1.8. It is great in low light, but is not wide enough for many shots.

I use my camera for an extremely wide variety of occasions and activities (hiking, weddings, cycling, sporting events, and just everyday events. I would like good walk-around lens and a telephoto.

I have been looking at:
Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4.5. If I were to purchase that lens, I would probably get the Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 to go with it.

Or I could just get the Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS to go along with my 18-55 kit lens, but I am not happy with my 18-55mm in low light… especially during times when I don't want to use a flash.
Great suggestions, but I am not really happy with having just the 18-55 kit lens as my walk-around lens. Maybe I should just get something like the Canon 28-135? I could always get a proper telephoto lens later. I am doing Ragbrai (bike ride across Iowa) in a few weeks, and would like one main lens to use for the week long event. The 18-55 is just not versatile enough.
