Would the lumix panasonic TZ4 take good pics of the moon?need examples of dig cams that take 5* pics of moon??

thank you very much-please if you are gonna explain me how the digital camera works and how to take a pic of the moon plz use simple words and simple english so i can understand and stop sumbiting the same question every time. much obliged .. :) i have a samsung digital ca mera the L700 btw any suggestions for an upgrade

    No.

    You need a camera that you can manually set to 1/ISO of the sensor or film @ f/16 … most P&S cameras do not have Aperture, Shutter speed or Manual modes. Since most P&S cameras use "auto-exposure", the moon will be nothing but a white hole in the sky because the camera will be trying to expose the sky and the exposure will be very long.

    Even at the zooms longest setting (280 mm ) the moon will be quite small in the frame. The longest setting on your L700 (105 mm) the noon would even be smaller in the frame.

    You may want to shoot some moon rises or moon sets. The Earth's atmosphere will help you by magnifying the moon.
