I have a Panasonic Mini Dv camcorder, about 2.5 years old?
I recently bought a computer with Vista installed. Now I am trying to bring my taped movies from the camcorder to my computer to burn onto a disk using Microsoft Movie Maker. However movie maker won't recognize my usb cable. What can I do to fix this?
If your computer does not already have a firewire port, add one. USB is no longer supported to transfer digital video from miniDV tape based camcorders. Once you get the firewire port working, you will need a firewire cable to connect the DV port (not USB) on the camcorder to the firewire port on the computer.
