I purchased an S-Video cable with the audio cable as well, hooked it up last night and was not able to get a picture. What do I need to do and is my computer/TV compatible to view my computer on my TV?

Most likely you have it connected correctly but don’t have your computer set to output the video through the s-video port or you didn’t turn the input on your TV to s-video.
