I need a new digital camera…help me pick one!?

Okay, I dropped my beloved camera this weekend and it broke. I didn't have a warranty (first mistake) so I'm looking for a new one now. I want one that has really good features (like different picture and video modes, etc) , is durable, records movies, and most importantly, takes pictures FAST and has image stabilization (my old Nikon took 5-10 seconds to take a picture and they always came out blurry). Also, it needs to be Mac-compatible (I've never heard of a camera that wasn't but I thought I'd throw it out there). I don't want to spend more than $250, and it would be awesome if the camera came in different colors. Also, I need one that's available in stores because I don't want to order it online. If you have any recommendations or buying tips or anything, let me know! And yes, before you say it, I'm getting a warranty no matter what! Thanks for your help…best answer to the one who recommends the camera I end up buying!

Best bang for you buck is a camera that retailed at $300 when it came out but I know is super cheap now. Is the Olympus IR-300
I believe it would make an excellent replacement, even though it's a compact it takes some great shots, and it's pretty fast on the draw

I get with the good comes the bad, my only down fall with the camera is that is 5Mega Pixels

I believe the camera is still available at wolfcamera stores and Ritz camera stores. I don't know where you live but these are pretty big chain camera stores

I also provided a review on the camera if you want to take a look.

First of all, i think canon are THE BEST, for quality and portability. I have this camera and it is awesome; theres just no other way to put it. i realize it is a little over your price but believe me it is totally worth it.

I would say go for a Cannon SD 1000, if you are have a Ciruit City near by, they have a deal which goes on, when you buy the camera you get a free 2 GB Memory Card for the camera. Apart from that the acmera is simply amazing. The photo quality is top notch and it is very sturdy. I dropped mine like a 1000 times and it still functions properly. Its approximately $300 or cheaper.

okay….i enjoyed answering this question…I am deciding between the sony cybershot dsc t70 and the casio exilim ex-s10. They have all of the features you want and are high in megapixels. The only problem with the casio is that it does not have image stabilization, but it does have this thing called autto shutter mode that helps with the bluriness and detects the right time to take the pic. So I guess it is like an image stabilizar in some way. I personally love the casio beause is is super thin..About .54 inches to be exact. It has movie mode and easy youtube uploader and you can actually drag and drop the vids you take onto your ipod. Im not sure about the sony, but that is a really kewl feature. The sony has a slightly bigger screen but only because it is touch screen. Even though you are getting a warranty, it is a plasma screen like the televisions that make tht funny color and design when you poke it. So it could be easily broken and scratched. It is up to you but I think I am leaning towards the casio. You can go on exilim.com and look up more features. Another really cool reason I am leaning towards the casio is because, since I know you are going to take videos, it has a really convenient record button on the back so you do not have to go to menu, mode then find video. Once you turn the camera on, it is obviously normal picture, but with a touch of the video recording button you could easily be recording without having to go through the menu and risk your chance of recording what you might want to.Once again, you will be really surprised by how thin it is as I was. It comes in four colors. As you can see in the link I will post for you.The colors are a really nice shiny darker red, shiny drker blue kinda of like a royal blue, shiny silver, and black (which is kind of dull but still really nice). I might get the black because if you are outside, I do not want to take the chance of the sun reflecting a glare off of the shinyness. But it probaby wont anyway. I have heard really good reviews about this camera. The link I have posted has a 360 degree view so you can drag the camera whichever way you want. You can also change the color. As you see on the link, this camera is almost or about the same size as the actual camera. So drag it to the side and see how thin it really is. And it even looks thinner in person. I really hope I helped you out by deciding which camera to buy. Let me know if you can which one you buy and if you are pleased with it. And if you do not like it, most stores have the 30 day money back guarantee. But some stores such as brandsmart are different so just ask to make sure. You can also just go to a store such as best buy or circuit city and view the camera while it is on. I was pleased so far in the stores with it and I hope you are also. GOOD LUCK. PS…THE CASIO EXILIM EX-S10 IS ABOUT 250 TO 270 DOLLARS.I am not 100 percent sure but It is between those ranges. The sony is about 250. …I have heard that the casio has more features then the sony..
