Sony Cybershot W-55 Question?

Hi Everyone,

I am a proud owner of the Sony Cybershot W55. I love it. It is nice and small, since I am new to this camera brand, I don't know if this is normal or not for this camera.

Picture Quality: The pictures are clear yes, but they seem to have a softer look to them when printed out. They look sharp and brillliant on the LCD, but when they are transferred and/or printed at the local pharmacy, they are either blurry or the colors are softer or yellowed, this only happens on some, not all. I would like to know, is there anything I can do so this won't happen again and get pictures I have been seeing on this website of sony cameras? Let me know.

Like I said before, I am not sure if this normal for this camera or not. Also, sometimes a blue circle would show up on some pictures. It has been past the allowable time to return the camera if this is a camera defective or not. Hope you can be helpful to me. Thank you in advance.

Your friend in photography,
Nick

You can do two things that will enhance you pictures.

Whenever you change lighting situations (bright sun, open shade, indoors under incandescent or fluorescent lighting), set the cameras white balance to match the lighting. Sometimes the auto white balance does not do a really good job

Make sure when you are shooting indoors without a flash to steady the camera on something firm, so you don't get camera movement.

The image is going to look sharper on a tiny LCD screen as opposed to (I'm assuming) a 4"x6" print. You don't say how they look on your computer monitor (if you are, in fact, using a computer to edit them). The yellowing is usually caused by improper white balance setting (like when shooting under incandescent lights). These can be improved with a little post-processing. If you don't have an imgae editor, try the Gimp. It's free.
