How to use Sony Handycam w/ Mac??

I just bought the new Sony Handycam. I bought this to use with my IMac. The man at the store told me it would work with Mac. He said the USB would connect but when I connect it nothing seems to work. The DVD it came with said it only works with windows! He also said it takes ScanDisk, but it seems to only take sony memory stick. Is ths right? Will it work with firewire? Also If firewire works, I dont want it Live, I want to take the cam places & transfer it later . Is this Possible?? I will choose the best answer. Thanks!!!!
Also I have an attachment to import SD to my Mac. Will Memory Stick Pro Duo fit into this?
Sorry the camera is DCR-DVD308 DVD Handycam.

i believe you can. the disk you record onto is a MiniDV, right? go ahead and record throughout the day like you normally would. come home, rewind the tape, open iMovie on your Mac. From there, create a new project, make sure "clips" is highlighted on the right side towards the bottom. Then, look to the left on the other side of the window and you'll see a video camera icon and a scissors icon. switch that little ball/circle over to the vid cam side. Then click "import". After it's done, save it.

iMovie will only recognize firewire connections, not USB. Get yourself a 4 - 6 pin firewire cable for video transfers.
